www.findagrave.com OLIVET -- Dorothy Helen Tyson, 80, formerly of Olivet, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at a Topeka hospital. She suffered a stroke in April 1974 and had been in a Lyndon care home since then. She was born Sept. 13, 1918, in Olivet in Osage County, to Ivan and Maud Calkins. She graduated from Olivet High School in 1936 and attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia. She taught in several small schools in the Olivet community. She lived in Olivet until 1974. She married Roy A. Tyson on May 10, 1945, in Ottawa. He died March 9, 1994. Survivors include a son, Glen A. Tyson, Melvern; and two grandsons. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Burial will be in Alpine Cemetery north of Olivet. Relatives and friends will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
