MARION -- Dora M. Holub, 89, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013. She was born March 21, 1924, to Earl and Alma (Hotze) Thomas. Preceded in death by: husband, Theo; daughter, Mary Sue; three siblings; and two grandchildren. Survivors: children, Jeannie (Don) Vinduska, Meg (Bob) Grochowsky, Mary (Kyle) Davis, Steve (Virginia), John and Bill; one sister; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. today at Zeiner Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m., with a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, all at Holy Family Parish, St. Mark's Catholic Church of Marion. Memorials: Father Kapaun Fund or Good Shepherd Hospice, in care of Zeiner Funeral Home. -
MARION \endash Dora M. Holub, 89, passed away Tuesday (Nov. 12, 2013) at St. Luke Living Center of Marion.
She was born March 21, 1924, at Amorita, Okla., the daughter of Earl and Alma (Hotze) Thomas. On January 12, 1948, she was united in marriage to Theo Holub. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Mary Sue; siblings, Harold and Joe Thomas, and Delores Sysak, and two grandchildren.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters: Jeannie Vinduska (Don) of Lincolnville; Meg Grochowsky (Bob) of Topeka; and Mary Davis (Kyle) of Texarkana, Ark.; her sons, Steve (Virginia) of Newton; John of Udall; and Bill of Garden Plain; a sister, Ruby Holub of Marion; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation with family will be Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Zeiner Funeral Home, in Marion. Services will be held Saturday (Nov. 16, 2013), at Holy Family Parish, St. Mark's Catholic Church of Marion, with the Rosary being recited at 10 a.m., and the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Pilsen Cemetery.
Memorial Funds have been established for the Fr. Kapaun Fund or the Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion, KS, 66861.
