Remsen \endash Harold S. Gran, 86, formerly of the Welsh District Road, Remsen, passed away on November 11, 2013, at Sunset Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, where he had resided since July. Harold was born on February 18, 1927 in Meadville, Pennsylvania, the son of Francis and Florence Gran. Harold proudly served his country during WWII with the U.S. Navy while stationed in the Asian Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged on July 18, 1946. For several years Mr. Gran was employed as a supplies estimator for Arthur Lewis Supply, a contracting company in Ashtabula, Ohio. He was married to Doris Ferguson on December 4, 1956 in Ashtabula, Ohio. Besides his wife he is survived by his two sons: Jeffrey and Randy Gran, and his daughter Lynne Wilkins; his grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Dorothea Huey. In keeping with Harold's wishes all services will be held privately at the convenience of his family. His arrangements have been entrusted to the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville.
