Dan Straw, Founder & Owner:
Dan is the father of 2 very quickly growing boys and an attentive husband to his wife and partner in business, Suze. Dan has worked in the waterproofing and foundation repair industry for over 14 years and has worked one on one with home owners in residential construction for over 30 years. He earned the reputation of taking on the projects other contractors felt "too tough" and exceeding expectations in the final outcome. This is but one of the reasons most of his business comes in the way of previous customer referrals. He also has extensive knowledge in commercial construction. He was known as the "go to guy" when others had a problem they couldn't resolve. This allows for a well rounded expertise that only a very few in the industry can claim! Over the years, Dan strives for and has gained a reputation for fairness, and is well known for his "driving personality" that never fails to get the job done.
Dan is a 2x cancer survivor. His first fight was in 2004 and the most recent was in 2010. After surviving his first battle, Dan and Suze began talking about the concept of Better Basements and how this company would benefit it's future customers, it's employees and Dan and his family. Better Basements was built with the primary goal of "Giving home owners back a dry, usable basement and respecting their right to receive quality customer service and value for the money spent." Dan does have a noticeable battle scar, he now speaks with a strong whisper. We refer to him as: The Basement Whisperer. He is now cancer free, healthy and enjoying life!
SuzeStrawSuzette Straw, Founder & Owner:
Suzette met Dan Straw one day during her 12 year career in marketing and advertising. A few years later Suze & Dan married, had 2 sons & started Better Basements. When the boys were young Suze worked at home raising the boys, & also worked with Dan to help Better Basements grow into the company it is today. When the boys were old enough, Suze then started working at the office full time carrying on the responsibilities of a business owner. During this time she organized a busy office, implemented an advertising & marketing campaign, set up a HR division & basically did whatever necessary to help Dan keep their company growing & moving
