Carolyn Susan Meek

  General Notes:

Carolyn Sue Cisar, the daughter of Dale and Velma Verna (Bosley) Meek was born December 5, 1939 in Maryville, Missouri. She passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Bergan-Mercy Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 69 years, 2 months and 14 days.
As a child, Carolyn and her family lived in Missouri, and then Hamburg, IA. They later moved to Coburg, IA where Carolyn attended high school. She moved to Omaha, NE after school and went to work for Western Electric. While living in Omaha, Carolyn met a young gentleman, Jim. On October 3, 1959, Carolyn was united in marriage to James R. Cisar Sr. in Carson, IA. Following their wedding, Jim and Carolyn made their home in Red Oak, until 1963 when they moved to Omaha. Having lived in Omaha ten years, the family moved back to Red Oak in 1973. Carolyn worked at Powell School and then later for D&L Company. She enjoyed collecting angels, being outdoors and camping. Carolyn was also a bird and animal lover. She treasured her family and dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a friendly lady and known as the "neighborhood grandma."
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Velma Cisar; great-grandson: Anthony Appley; brothers: Ernie, Jimmy, Bobby and Billy; sisters: Beverly, Peggy, Linda Lou and Patty.
Carolyn is survived by her husband: James R. Cisar Sr. of Red Oak, IA; son: James "Dick" Cisar Jr. and wife Dana of Atlantic, IA; daughter: Shelly Shuffler and companion Fred Welch of Red Oak, IA; ten grandchildren: John, Christina, Neissa, Ciera, Michelle, David, Melissa, Jessica, Scott and Tanner; six great-grandchildren: Nathaniel, Baileigh, Haley, Aaliyah, Shaya and Kylie; brother: Carroll Meek and wife Dorothy of Canon City, CO; sisters: Sharon Campbell and husband Francis of Omaha, NE; Karen Lukehart and husband Jerry of Bellevue, NE; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
