DAVENPORT - Al Jennett, Sr., 60, of Davenport died Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street, Davenport. Celebration of Life services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge, Davenport, where family will greet visitors from 12 p.m. (noon) until time of service. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.
Al Jennett was born in 1946 to Harley and Myrtle Jennett in Davenport. He served with the U.S. Army. On May 10, 2001, he married Mary Hagedom-Chapman in Davenport. He worked as a cook in various locations, and he enjoyed his motorcycles.
Left to cherish his memory are his angel wife, Mary; his sons, Alvin (Samantha) Jennett, Jr., John (Bonnie) Jennett, Joshua (Heather) Jennett, Tim (Jamie) Chapman and John (Jessica) McLemore; his daughters, Laurie (Donald) Cody, Colleen (Richard) Ras and Jamey Chapman (Dan Brown); 28 very special grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ray, Chuck, Richard, Glen, Dorothy, Kay, DeeDee, and Charlotte; several nieces and nephews; and mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hagedom of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his Mom and Dad, Harley and Myrtle Belle Jennett and two brothers, Steve and Ottie Jennett. A very heart-felt and special thanks to Dr. E.V. Motto for all the love and care that you have shown. We thank you and the staff at Genesis Hospital.
There will be no more pain and suffering. We will all miss you very much. You are a very special and remarkable man who has touched so many people's lives. You are gone but not forgotten. You are home with God and your Momma and Daddy and don't forget Elvis. Go rest now. We love you always and forever. Till we see you again.
