OXFORD - Thomas Gene Carp, 58, of Dorman Road, died Monday, November 20 at Griffin Hospital, Derby, after a long illness. He was the husband of Agnes (Marks) Cicarelli Carp.
Mr. Carp was born in Bridgeport, December 5, 1941, son of the late William and Angie (DeFinis) Carp. A U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1959 to 1962, he was the owner of Carp Insurance Agency and Computer Tutor of Oxford.
A 25-year Oxford resident, previously of Danbury, he was a past president of the Oxford Businessmen's Association and a member and past officer of the Life Underwriters Training Council. Computers were his hobby and his business.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Robert Cicarelli of Sandy Hook and Michael Cicarelli of Roxbury; four daughters, Nancy Marie Hallee of Waterbury, Lucille Spoldi of West Haven, Kathy Wilson of North Branford and Chrisann Cicarelli of West Haven; a sister, Janice Straw of Prospect, nine grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew.
A prayer service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 25 in the Chapel of Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., Route 67, Seymour, with the Rev. Dominic Valla, pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, officiating. Burial with military honors will take place in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Scleroderma Foundation, through the funeral home.
