COLDWATER -- Iva May Smith, 81, of Coldwater, died on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005 at the Community Health Center of Branch County.
Iva was born on Dec. 23, 1923 in Coldwater, to Willis and Lucille (Parshall) Smith.
Iva has been a lifelong resident of Branch County. She graduated from Union City High School in 1942. Iva attended the Coldwater United Methodist Church and had worked as a manager at Darling Display in Coldwater for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Iva especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends who loved her greatly. Iva was a very generous person with her time and all the things she did for others.
Iva is preceded in death by her sisters Rolene Barthold, Mary Danbury, brother Robert Smith and special friend Nora Peg Edwards.
Iva is survived by her sister Marion Cazier of Augusta, and sister and brother-in-law Margeurite and Paul Straw, of Coldwater, nieces and nephews Joe Alexander, Linda Alexander-Wyers, Mary Ann Handy, John Moyer, Ivan Moyer, Jr., Suzanne Crandall, Kathy Myers, Robert Smith, Jr., Judy Wyatt, Christine Bradley, Steven Danbury, great-nieces Abby Alexander, Jessie Wyers, Lindsay Alexander and special friend Susan Turner, of Coldwater.
The service will be held on Wednesday, Aug.10, 2005 at 2 p.m., at Dutcher Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Wilson of the Gospel Lighthouse officiating.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Dutcher Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the CHC Cancer Center or to The Branch County Humane Society.
