CHENEY - Kenneth F. Bohner, 86, died Oct. 8, 2006, at Kingman Community Hospital.
He was born July 29, 1920, in Columbus, Neb., the son of Clinton and Nellie Bohner. A resident of Cheney, he was retired from Stephens Dairy. He joined the U.S. Calvary at the age of 16 and was a member of the "F" Troop. He received the infantryman badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with one Battle Star, European Theatre Ribbon with four Battle Stars, two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, and a Silver Star for capturing a German Pillbox, plus three other campaign ribbons. Kenneth's outfit was at Schofield Barrack during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
He belonged to Ninnescah Valley Baptist Church, Cheney.
In 1954, he married Marjorie Houghton in Wichita. She died Dec. 24, 1973. In 1973, he remarried to Aleatha Dennis. She died Feb. 11, 2003.
Survivors include: a son, Stan Bohner, Wichita; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Gale Evans, Augusta; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; and one sister.
Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Lanterman Funeral Home Chapel, Cheney, with Pastor Don Mace officiating. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at the Mulvane Cemetery.
Lanterman Funeral Home, Cheney, is in charge of arrangements.
