Margaret (Wilson) Connors, age 92, formerly of Merasheen, passed peacefully away at Lions Manor Nursing Home August 19, 2016.

Predeceased by her husband Jim (2004) and daughter Charmaine (1986).

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children Eric (Jane), Margaret, Benedict (Linda), Alan (Maryanne), Roderick (Anno), Valerie (Lester), Brian (Dawn), and Bernadine (Terry); Grandchildren: Vanessa, Ryan & Sean, Mark & Alex, Robert, Sydney & Jayme, Morgan & Jacquelyn; Great-grandchildren: Bobby James, Jayden & Charlee, Brayden; Special Friend and care worker Liz Roache; Plus a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Margaret was first and foremost a mother to her nine children and wife to Jim. She thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. Beyond that, she was also a person of many talents, a true artist who amazed us with her artistic and creative abilities. She designed and sewed her own handmade quilts and many garments. She drew beautiful pictures, hooked mats and knit. Margaret also enjoyed her flower garden where, miraculously, everything flourished (she loved her flowers but she wasn't much for weeding). She loved baking and having her cup of tea. She appreciated having the house full of people singing songs and playing instruments. Margaret didn't care how many people came or how long they stayed. She was a very religious woman who prayed every night with the family. She especially enjoyed her visit to the Shrine of St. Anne De Beaupre.
Margaret was a quiet, gentle woman with grace and dignity. Honest to a fault - even when playing cards. She loved her game of cards. Herself and Jim would have a few games every night. She wouldn't hear tell of cheating \endash even if it was for fun. If she couldn't beat you "fair and square" she didn't want any part of it. She didn't have a bad word to say about anyone, she always looked at the glass as half full. How fortunate and grateful we were to have had such a beautiful mother, inside and out. She always led by example. She taught us so much.
Resting at Maher's Funeral Home on Saturday, August 20 from 7pm to 9pm, and Sunday, August 21 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place 11am on Monday, August 22, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church, Placentia, with interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Placentia.

Margaret married James Benedict Connors, son of Sylvester Connors and Elizabeth "Betsy" Houlihan. (James Benedict Connors was born in 1917 in Merasheen Island, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland and died on 18 Dec 2004 in Placentia, Newfoundland.)
