Mrs. James Bowness Dies Unexpectedly-
"Ms. James W. Bowness, 78, Mound City, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 7, at her farm home.
Leda F. Bowness was born north of Mound City, daughter of Joseph and Christina Fox Fries, Aug. 31, 1894. She spent most of her life in the Mound City and Tarkio areas. She was married to James W. Bowness, Feb. 17, 1917. They were parents of four children.
One son, James; an infant daughter; her parents; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Heck; two brothers, Frank and George Fries, preceded her in death.
Survivors are her husband of the home; two sons, Joseph Bowness of the home, Philip Bowness of Mound City; one brother, Fred Fries; three grandchildren, Kevin, James and Christina Bowness, all of Mound City.
Services were conducted Friday, March 9 at the Pettijohn & Crawford Funeral Home, Mound City by Rev. Clarence Smith.
Interment was in New Liberty Cemetery."
