Lois B. Colman, 87, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at St. Vincent Healthcare, after a short illness. Her two remaining daughters were at her side.
She was born July 11, 1915, to Thurman and Dora Briggs, in Hartville, Wyo. In 1961, she moved from Sheridan, Wyo., to Billings to be with her three daughters. She was well known for her excellent cooking in restaurants throughout the Billings area and was especially famous for her cinnamon rolls, pies and soups.
Her three girls and her grandchildren were the greatest joys in her life, after which came shopping.
Her parents, three brothers, three sisters and her daughter Jeanie preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Ula (Willie) Straw; her daughter, Molly (Joe) Steffes; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place, and, at Lois's request, there will be no funeral services. Memorials may be made to the Billings Animal Shelter.
Mom, you are the greatest, and we will miss you. You were always there for us. We'll be lost without you.
There will be a celebration of Lois's life at the home of Joe and Molly Steffes at 2015 Canyon Drive at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 11.
