e-mail Brendan Collins to B. Higginson Feb 2019 ".......... By my father's first marriage, Clara was born Nov. 18- 1912.In Sept.--1915 Anne Maria was expecting another child. She took sick & my father sent Jack Collins (your father-in -law) along with two other men in my father's boat ''Maria Joseph'' to Burin for the doctor. Strong winds came on & they didn't get back until four days later. Anne Maria was dead & also one of her new born twins. The baby who died only lived 15 minutes. The other baby was christened Margaret. My grandfather,James Sr. & his 3rd. wife were well up in years at the time, & my father busy with the fishery, my Aunt Nora , took baby Margaret with her to their home in Clattice Hr. where she lived. Aunt Nora & her husband Laurence ( Anne Maria;s) brother took in a lot of kids in their time & reared them. There were no papers to sign back in them times.A far cry from today. Margaret only lived to be 11 mos. old when she died July 21--1916. My other Aunt Josie married in 1917 & moved to Presque,3 mi. from St Ann's,& she took Clara & reared her. Clara became a teacher & eventually married. She was pregnant with twins & in labor, it was said she refused a helicopter ride to Argentia to go in hospital. After she died, Sept.3--1942, the twins were moving in her womb.Hoping this will help. (Out of space) Bye for now. Brendan
