PITTMAN, Ignatius- Passed peacefully away on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, Ignatius Pittman (Royal Navy World War I Veteran) aged 86 years. Predeceased by his first wife Helen; his parents Michael and Ellen Pittman; his brothers Jack and Peter and his sister Catherine. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Annie Pittman (Conway); his sons Michael - St. John's, Paul (Angie) - St. John's, David (Krista) - Torbay, and John - St. John's; his daughters Jean (Gary Lacey) - St. John's, and Linda (Roy Strange) - Manuels; his step-sons William (Carmel) - St. John's, Edward (Berniece) - Labrador City, and Paul (Kim) - Labrador City; his step-daughters Ann (Cecil Stamp) - St. Vincent's, Linda (Bobby Dohey) - St. Bride's, and Josephine (Wayne Button) - Labrador City; his sister Mercedes (Bill Power) - Freshwater; his brother Phonse (Winnie) - St. John's; his sister-in-law Marcella Pittman - Placentia; 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild (Joshua) as well as a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Monday from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Patrick's Church, interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
