Obituary of Leonard Sweeney
Passed peacefully away in the loving arms of his family at the Placentia Health Care Center on Monday March 20 2017 Leonard Sweeney in his 78th year of Point Verde, Placentia. Predeceased by his loving wife Selina, his parents Patrick & Annie Sweeney, brothers Patrick, Patrick Aloysius, and William James. Leaving to mourn with sad and loving memories, his children: Marion (Kenneth King), Lenny, Agnes (Dave King), Kenny (Leone), Dianne (Duane Mayer) & Albert, his brothers & sisters Eliza (Pad Martin, deceased), Mary Jo (Billy Barron), Dan, Ted (Marie), Hilda (Joe Whittle, deceased), Anse (Peter Power), Ronnie (Shirley) and Linda (Jim Murphy), his brother and sisters in law; Pat Brewer, Jenny Hepditch and Mary Agnes Brewer, 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia on Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00, Wednesday from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 9:00. Funeral Mass to take place on Thursday at St. Anne's Church, Dunville at 2:00 P.M., inurnment to take place in Coombs Memorial Cemetery at a date to be given later. Flowers gratefully accepted.

Leonard married Selina Brewer, daughter of Michael Brewer and Agnes Genevieve Moore, on 25 Jul 1960. (Selina Brewer was born on 30 Jul 1941 in Clattice Harbor, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, died on 9 Oct 2007 in Placentia Health Centre - Placentia and was buried in Coombs Memorial Cemetery - Placentia, Newfoundland.)
