Heaven got another angel today! We are deeply saddened to share that after an incredibly long battle with Alzheimer's, mom passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 13th. While her fight is over, we still have family that are suffering from this horrific disease. Many think it is all about simply forgetting but its the slow deterioration that rocks a family to its core. It can utterly consume the lives and well-being of families and caregivers, as its the longest of goodbyes.
Our dear mom, Rita will be welcomed into her eternal life by her husband Bob Crowell, her mother and father Joseph and Elsie Greene, along with her brothers Cecil and Joe Greene, in-laws Edward and Zella Crowell, Edward Junior Crowell, Anna May Bangay, Paul Kelly, Bill Norman, nieces and nephews Gwen Pauze, Derek Greene, Jimmy Crowell and Kelly Greene.
Those that she leaves behind with the fondest of memories are her 3 kids Jason, Danielle and Tyler (Laurie) Crowell; her grandkids Ryan, Kerrie Ann, Kevin and Jason Smith, Christian and Ryley Geddes Crowell, Caitlyn, Allison and Julia Crowell. Her great grandkids Cashes, Xxavier, Katie, Kitana, Mileena, Catherine and Bradley. Her siblings Loretta (Bill), Elsie (Art), Mary Rose, Marion (Tom), Frank, Sylvia, Pius (Yvonne). And dozens of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She was a strong woman of faith, exuberant and fun loving, and known for her love of Christmas. The love and compassion she showed to all was like no other. A simple woman with a heart of gold. Such an incredible mom, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
There are no words to express our thanks to our amazing Chelsey Park family especially the 3rd floor team, you have been there watching over mom for over 10 years; you do things daily that I cannot imagine, you have a job like no other and we love you for it. I love that you treated her like family.
Visitation to be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday December 15, 2016 from 7-9 pm and the service to be held in the Needham Funeral Home chapel on Friday December 16, 2016 at 11 am. Interment to follow at St. Peter's cemetery.
Donations will be accepted on behalf of the Alzheimer's Society.

Rita married Robert Victor Crowell. (Robert Victor Crowell was born in Oct 1936 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and died in May 1997 in London, Ontario Province, Canada.)
