bullet  General Notes:

She was James Collins' 3rd wife and widowed..maiden name unknown - see his notes

There is a James Canning born 1840 Sound Island who died 30 Jan 1907 in Deep Cove of Influenza. I believe Margaret was his wife. She was widowed and living in Deep Cove by 1908 when she remarried as a widow to James Collins. I will assign James Canning as her first husband unless I find documentation to prove otherwise. Time , place and date indicate this is probable. Also in the 1921 census of Deep Cove Margaret Collins is living with her nephew Adrian Canning. She is widowed (her husband James Collins died 1920). Since Adrian is the son of Peter Canning and Mary Ryan and I believe Peter to be a brother of James Canning (both are buried in St. Kyran's Cemetery and sons of Martin Canning and Bridget Murphy who came to Newfoundland from Ireland) this seems to confirm this.
