COLLINS, Michael Joseph - Aged 69 passed away October28, 1989 at Stellarton, Nova Scotia, formerly of Freshwater, Placentia Bay. Leaving to mourn son Frank (and wife Linda), Kingston, Ontario; two sisters: Bride at Placentia and Clothilda at St. John's; one brother Fred at Freshwater; grandsons: Michael and Dwayne, Kingston, Ontario and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia. Funeral Mass was 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 1989 at Holy Rosary Church, Freshwater. Interment was at R.C. Michael was my Godfather He was married to Bertha Bennett Also one of my teachers She died when son Frank was maybe two.Baby girl was born but died also . I think she had cancer. See if you can find obit for her.She died in hospital in St.Johns He never married again.

Michael married Bertha Bennett, daughter of John Bennett and Mary Wilson, on 29 Sep 1946. (Bertha Bennett was born on 12 Apr 1914 in Clattice Harbor, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, died on 17 Oct 1948 in St. John's Hospital, St. John's, Newfoundland and was buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery - St. John's Newfoundland.). The cause of her death was cancer of liver.
