Passed peacefully away at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Tuesday, September 8th, 2009, John Durdle at the age of 78 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his daughters: Sharon (Gary Pretty) of Vancouver, BC and Diane Stephenson of St. Catherine's, Ontario; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Edna Durdle of Deer Lake; his siblings, sisters: Gertie (Raymond White), Minetta (Scott Pelley), Margaret (Ronald McDonald), Melva (Graham Field), all of Deer Lake, Joy (Bill Gordon) of Chauvin, Alberta, brothers: Sam (Patricia) Durdle of Corner Brook, Winston (Rachel) Durdle of Pasadena, Carson (Audrey) Durdle of Saint John, NB and Barry (Violet) Durdle of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Jack was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Jackie; his parents, Lily and Walter Durdle; sisters: Flossie and Annie; brother, Sammy. Also leaves to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends. The family will be receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, on Thursday, September 10th, 2009, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, September 11th, 2009 from 10-12. The funeral service will take place on Friday, September 11th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Church in Deer Lake with Majors Wayne & Betty Ann Pike officiating. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army Church Building Fund, in John's memory, would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
