It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alexander A. Sparkes announce his passing on Friday, April 14th, 2000 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in his 75th year. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Helen (nee Pearce); four sons: Warren and Kevin (Phyllis), both of Rocky Harbour, Larry (Beverley) of Toronto, and Carson (Louise) of Lloydminister, Alberta; six daughters: Daphne Brake, Belinda (Walter) Kitchen, both of Rocky Harbour, Yula (Maxwell) Lush of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Nancy Fremantle and Marilyn (Stanley) Butt, both of Rocky Harbour and Luanne Sparkes of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Twenty four grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Brada (Joseph) Parsons of Corner Brook, and Edna Durdle of Deer Lake. Six brothers: Eunice (Ena), Russell (Joanne), Chesley (Annie) and Lloyd (Cora), all of Rocky Harbour, Eldon and Melvin, both of Ontario. Also his sisters-in-law and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers: Cecil, Gus, Oscar, Morgan and his sister Sarah. Visitation will take place from the Salvation Army Church in Rocky Harbour today, Saturday and Sunday where also Funeral Services will take place on Monday at 2:00 p.m. with Capt. Johnson officiating. Interment to follow at the Family Plot. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home, 63 Northmain Street, Deer Lake.
