It is with great sadness that the family of the late Iris Hayter (nee Sparkes) announce her sudden passing in Fort McMurray, Alberta on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the age of 57. Iris was raised in Rocky Harbour, NL and lived in Corner Brook, NL with her husband, Frederick Hayter (deceased) and two sons: Paul and Cory, before moving to Fort McMurray, Alberta. She will be sadly missed by her partner, Edward (Ted) Tucker; two sons: Paul and Cory (Shawna and grandson, Stephen); mother, Cora Sparkes (deceased); father, Lloyd Sparkes and stepmother, Betty Dyke (Sparkes); sisters: Christine Drudge (John Kennedy) of Pasadena, NL, Jackie Wilson of Oshawa, Ontario, Donna Burgess (Bruce) of Angus, Ontario and brother, Darren of Ottawa, Ontario; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will be receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Sunday, January 5th, 2014 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., where also the funeral service will take place on Monday, January 6th, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Leonard Whitten officiating. As per Iris' wishes, cremation will follow, with a burial to follow at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL.
