BRUCE, Gertrude (nee Barrett) - Age 55 years. Passed peacefully away at the Placentia Health Care Centre on September 5, 2006, after a very courageous battle with cancer, of Dunville, P. Bay. Predeceased by her father Frederick Barrett of Whitbourne. Leaving to mourn her beloved husband Bernard, daughter Lori, son-in-law Gary; two grandsons: Lucas and Colby; mother Dorothy Barrett; sister Eliza (Reg) Matchett; four brothers: Nathaniel (Marguerite) Barrett, Eric (Diane) Barrett, Frederick (Glenda) Barrett, Maxwell (Linda) Barrett; six sisters-in-law: Margaret (Gerald) Kelly, Jose Griffiths, Beth Smith, Rose (Ray) O'Neil, Jean (Paul) Hebert and Marion Bruce; four brothers-in-law: Ned Bruce (Patricia), Harold (Kitty) Bruce, Frank Bruce and Reg (Peggy) Bruce. Also, a number of nieces and nephews, a large circle of other family and friends. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 with visitation from 12 noon to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 11 am at St. Anne's Church, Dunville. Interment to follow at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast, Placentia.
