passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2009, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in St. Lawrence, N.L., she was a daughter of the late John Slaney and Leona (Devereaux) Slaney-Dober. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Glen; son, John; daughter-in-law, Angela Fraser; grandchildren, Joseph and Joshua; sisters, Joan, Virginia, Rhoda, Betty, Lisa; brothers, John, Brian, Noel, Walter and Dean; stepfather, Hubert; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Joshua. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday with funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, September 7, both in St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Enfield, Father Andrew Rembarczyk officiating. Interment in St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Cemetery. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
