It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mrs. Mary Power announce her passing at the J. I. O'Connell Centre on Wednesday, October 17th, 2001 at the age of 86 years. She will be sadly missed by her two sisters: Rita Whelan, of Corner Brook and Loretta Sullivan of Halifax. She will be also missed by a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Leo, on November 5th, 1999, her parents: William and Martina Whelan, her sisters: Florence Joy and Anita Barry, her brothers: Loyola, Francis, James, William and Basil. The funeral service will take place at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Stephenville, Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with Father O'Quinn officiating. The interment will take place at the family plot. Tributes may be made by making donations to the J. I. O'Connell Centre, P. O. Box 2005, Corner Brook, NF A2H 6J7. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, Corner Brook, phone 634-2500.
Mary married Leo Power, son of Prime Power and Laura Madore. (Leo Power was born in 1925, died on 5 Nov 1999 and was buried in Hillside Interfaith Cemetery - Stephenville, Newfoundland.)
