Mary Ballard Delaney ( nee Callahan)
February 24, 1935 - January 16, 2020
Mary Ballard Delaney [nee Callahan passed unexpectedly in Dartmouth, NS on Thursday January 16th (in her 85th year surrounded by many family members. Predeceased by her husbands: Patrick Ballard and Leo Delaney; Parents: James and Annie Callahan; Grandson Sean Maxwell; Daughter-in-Law Dianne Ballard Siblings; Bernard and Michael; Sisters: Alice Lawrence Meaney, Carmelita, Donna Callahan and Patricia Hearn
Leaving with a great loss:
Three sons: Tony Linda, Phil Lynda, Jim Rita
Seven Daughters: Linda John, Helen, Theresa Joe, Mary Gavin, Colleen Clark, Karen Rick and Patti Jason.
Eighteen Grandchildren: Michael, PJ, Toni, Leila, Alanna, Philip, James, Jonathan, Sarah. Andrew, Jeremy, Justin, Trevor, Stephanie, Candace, Connor, Patrick and Kaitlyn.
Twenty Great Grandchildren.
Siblings; Sister Helen Cecil Russell;
Brothers: Jack Rowena Callahan, James Paula Callahan, Edward Callahan and Brian Callahan,
Sisters-in-Law: Sharon Callahan, Winne Callahan, Elizabeth Callahan, Margaret Callahan, Marina Tompkins Tom, Marie Doak Keith Betty Ballard, Brother-in-Law: Francis Ballard Paula. Daughter-in-Law, Sandy Ballard.
The seven children of her late husband, Leo Delaney.
Also a very large number of friends, nephews and nieces [special mention to nieces Alicia Meaney and Colleen Ballard.
Mary's role as a Parent with her uncompromising dedication to her children will be her greatest legacy. Her love and support will be greatly missed.
The family will be receiving friends at Russell's Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive in Stephenville on Tuesday January 21st, 2020 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday January 22nd, 2020 at 2 pm from St. Stephen's Parish on West Street with interment in the Hillside Interfaith
The family will be hosting a reception at Day's Inn in Stephenville from 3:30 to 6:00 pm on Wednesday after the funeral service.

Mary married Patrick Ballard, son of Leo Francis Ballard and Alice Rita Whiffen. (Patrick Ballard was born in 1935 in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, Newfoundland, Canada, died in 1978 in Stephenville, Newfoundland and was buried in Hillside Interfaith Cemetery - Stephenville, Newfoundland.)

Mary next married Leo Delaney. (Leo Delaney was born on 20 Sep 1922, died on 8 Dec 2017 in Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing and was buried in Cremains.)
