It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Elizabeth Hawco announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Friday, November 19, 1999, at the age of 77 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter, Carol Hunt of Port au Port East; son, James (Gladys) Hawco of Stephenville, two sisters, Patricia Hynes of NS, and Margaret Brown of Sployfield, Halifax, NS; three brothers, Michael (Loal) MacDonald of Grand Falls, Patrick (Mona) MacDonald of Port au Port East and Jack MacDonald of Sydney, NS; four grandchildren, Genine (Sean) Carey of Stephenville, Koren Hunt (Darren Benoit) of Piccadilly, Cynthia and Christopher Hawco of Stephenville; three great-grandchildren, Jaimee Nicole Hunt Benoit of Piccadilly, Tiffany and Tyrone Carey of Stephenville. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Hawco in 1981; parents, Margaret and James MacDonald, and one sister, Doreen Finley. The funeral service will take place on Monday at 11:00 a.m. from Maria Regina Roman Catholic Church, Father Gerard Patrey officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, 25 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville.
