In the year 1899, on Thursday the 5th of January at six-thirty in the morning, before us, Marie Lefevre, first assistant officer, appeared Louis Jean LeSénéchal, sailor, born at Saint-Pierre on March 27, 1870, lawful son of the late Pierre Marie François LeSénéchal and Anne Marie Cherdot, his widow, on the first part; to SARAH FARRELL, servant, born at Burin, Newfoundland, on January 15, 1869, lawful daughter of ANDREW FARRELL and ANNA KORTZ (CURTIS). They inform us that they have a son: (1) Louis Marie LeSénéchal, born at St. Pierre on September 26, 1898. The couple requested of us to proceed with the civil marriage between them. The witnesses to the marriage are Albert Grosvalet, carpenter, aged 38 years, and Pierre LeSénéchal, sailor, aged 26 years, brother of the groom.

Sarah married Joseph Patrick Brake, son of George Brake and Jane Baker, on 7 Jan 1891 in Burin, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. (Joseph Patrick Brake was born on 7 Mar 1866 in Marystown, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.)
