LOCKYER, William - (1927 Dec. 21-2010 Aug. 21) - Passed peacefully away at the Miller Centre in St. John's, NL on August 21, 2010, William Lockyer in his 83rd year of Mount Pearl, NL formerly of Arnold's Cove, Placentia Bay. Predeceased by his parents John Thomas and Ethel (Hamilton) formerly of Isle Au Valen, Placentia Bay as well as his sister Annie and brother-in-law Chesley Morgan of St. John's. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories; his wife Rita (Lockyer) of 58 years; children Wilfred (Beulah), Paradise; Bernice (James Brown), Mt. Pearl; Bill (barbara), Victoria B.C.; six grandchildren: Jeffrey, Pamela, Derek, Diana, Nicole and William as well as four great grandchildren. Brother Ronald, Arnold's Cove and Sister Mary (Enos Lockyer), Arnold's Cove. Of special mention are Ethel and Linda whom he loved to see visit. Along with other relatives and friends of Arnold's Cove and his special friends at Hillcrest Estates. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. followed by memorial service at St. Michael's All Angels Anglican Church, Arnold's Cove at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the Interfaith Cemetery in Arnold's Cove. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Cancer Society.

William married Rita Lockyer, daughter of James Franklin "Frank" Lockyer and Phoebe Ellen Lockyer. (Rita Lockyer was born on 30 Oct 1932 in Isle Valen, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, died on 17 Jan 2017 in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada and was buried in Interfaith Cemetery - Arnold's Cove, Newfoundland.)
