MURRAY, Loretta Marystown, NF June 24, 1923 - September 3, 2001 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Loretta Murray announce her passing after a lengthy illness at the age of 78. Predeceased by her husband Michael Murray. Loretta leaves to mourn 18 children, including sons: John (Mirielle) of Oakville, ON, Tim (Gladys) of Marystown, Frank (Anna) of Edmonton, ASB, Gordon (Marjorie) of Marystown, Mike (Norma) of Marystown, Jim (Cathy) of Marystown, Ray (Pat) of Montreal, QB, Larry (Gladys) of Marystown, Gerard (Chantal) of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Tom of Frenchman's Cove, Joe (Priscilla) of Oakville, ON; daughters: Mary (Peter) Ledwith of Marystown, Margaret (Reg) Isaacs of Fort McMurray, AB, Helen (Arthur) Fitzpatrick of Marystown, Vera (Rick) Miles of Fort St. John, BC, Esther (Wilson) Kean of Corner Brook, Bride (Lester) Hennebury of Marystown and Regina of Marystown. Also leaving to mourn sisters Isabel Murray in New Jersey and Vera Tremblett of St. John's. Besides her 18 children, Loretta also leaves behind a legacy of 53 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and close friends. A funeral mass was conducted by Father Ray Earle at Sacred Heart Church in Marystown on Sept. 6th with interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Murray, Tim Murray, Gordon Murray, Frank Murray, Michael Murray, James Murray, Raymond Murray and Larry Murray while cross bearer was Tom Murray. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes in Marystown.

Dorothy married Michael Murray, son of John F. Murray and Johannah "Hannah" Ducey. (Michael Murray was born on 13 Jun 1900 in Marystown, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, died on 22 Nov 1966 in Marystown, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada and was buried in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery - Marystown, Newfoundland.)
