POWER, Louis - Of Stephenville. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Louis Power announces his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Saturday, May 25, 2002, at the age of 80 years. He will be sadly missed by his son Brian (Audrey) Power of St. John`s and two daughters: Ellen MacDonald of St. John`s, Margaret Power (Norman Matthews) of Stephenville and three grandchildren: Sandy and Nancy MacDonald of St. John`s and their father Rod MacDonald of Halifax; youngest grandson Matthew Power of St. John`s and close family friend Sheila Bennett of Stephenville; he is also survived by three sisters: Margaret (Maggie) Power of St. John`s, Marie Besco of Toronto, Dorothy (Ed) Dunne of St. John`s, and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Joan (Taaffe) Power in 1992 and his five brothers: Tom, Joe, Red, Leo, Mike Power and his sister Beatrice Ozon. Visitation took place at Russell`s Funeral Home on Sunday and Monday. Funeral services took place on Tuesday, May 28 at 10 a.m. from St. Stephen`s Parish, West Street, Stephenville with interment at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of one`s choice would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements were under the supervision of Russell`s Funeral Home, 39 Queen Street, Stephenville.
