It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lawrence Meaney announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Sunday September 7, 2003 at the age of 74 years. He leaves with fond and loving memories his wife Alice, two sons: Lawrence Jr. (Roma) in St. John's and Gary (Jeanie) in Stephanie, two daughters Carmelita (Danny) Courtney in Manuels and Alicia Meaney in Lourdes along with his three grandchildren: Grant and Cara Courtney and Travis Meaney. He also leaves his two brothers: Patrick (Ellie) in Gander and Louis (Marie) in Lourdes, his four sisters: Ellen Drake in Lourdes, Margaret (Jervis) Flynn in West Bay, Bernice (Howard) Flynn in Alberta and Viola (Bobby) Flynn in Kippens along with a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Patrick and Monica, his brother James and his sister Theresa. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at 10 a.m. from St. Stephen's Parish on West Street with interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery on the Hansen Highway in Stephenville. Friends may call at Russell's Funeral Home, 39 Queen Street from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Newfoundland Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Patrick married Monica Emberley. (Monica Emberley was born on 15 Dec 1901 in Petit Forte, Newfoundland and died in 1976.)
