Mrs. Madeline D. Bresse, 80, of Franklin died at Mountain Ridge Health Care Center on Dec. 31, 2015.
She was born in Franklin on Dec. 30, 1935, the daughter of Robert and Sabrina (Varney) Cunningham. Madeline graduated from Franklin High School in 1954 and later continued her studies in food service. Several years ago, she worked at the former Merrill Manor and at Mountain Ridge Health Care Center. She lastly worked in food services at Franklin Regional Hospital for 20 years prior to retiring. Madeline was a member of the Congregational Christian Church and was the widow of Robert M. Bresse Sr., who died in 2005.
Family members include her three children: Deborah Morgan and her husband, John, of Belmont, Robin Cilley and her husband, Dorrance, of Salisbury, and Robert M. Bresse Jr. of Franklin; four grandchildren, Jodi Nugent and husband Kevin of Belmont, Jason Cilley of Salisbury, Heidi Morgan and Matthew Morgan, both of Belmont; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Cain and Conner Nugent; three brothers, Thomas Cunningham of North Carolina, and Robert and James Cunningham, both of Northfield; a sister, Linda Medlin of Chicago; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Meuse, who died Dec. 27, 2015.
A graveside service will be held at Franklin Cemetery in the spring. Thibault-Neun Funeral Home in Franklin is assisting with arrangements. An online guestbook is available at neunfuneralhomes.com.

(Robert Melvin Bresse Sr. was born on 27 Dec 1927 in Laconia, Belknap County, New Hampshire, died on 27 Dec 2005 in Franklin, Merrimack County, New Hampshire and was buried in Franklin Cemetery Franklin, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, USA.)
