MCGRATH, Joseph - May 30, 1921 - November 1, 1997. Died at Hoyles- Escasoni following a period of failing health, Joseph McGrath of Branch, St. Mary's Bay. He leaves to mourn wife Hannah; sons Jerry (Charlotte Sam), Toronto, Don, Montreal; daughters: Carmelita (Ken Reynolds), St. John's, Josephine (Steve Janes), St. John's and Tina (Colin Short), Port aux Basques. He will be missed by the grandchildren he loved: Alex, Chloe, Stephen and Leah. Mourned also by brothers: Mike (Bernice), Branch, Ernest Fowler (Joyce), Labrador City; sisters: Rose Parrell, St. John's, Emma Fisher (Ernest), St. John's, Lillian Nash, Branch, Bernadette O'Rourke, Branch and Ella (Albert) Roche, St. Bride's. Remembered by a large, extended family and many friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, St. John's. Family visitation from 2 - 4 p.m. on Monday, November 3. General visitation at Holy Rosary Church in Branch on Tuesday November 4 from 2:00 p.m. onward, followed by Funeral Mass on Wednesday November 5 at 10:00 a.m. "As we say good-by, we remember him as a hard worker, a lover of the outdoors and a man who gave freely of his time and energies to his family, friends, community and parish.
