Marilyn P. Raney, 74, of Newark Valley died on Friday, April 13, 2007, at Binghamton General Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Manuella Courtright; brother, Joe Courtright; sister, Beverly Burton. She is survived by her husband, Earl Raney, Newark Valley; children, Laura and David Messersmith, Carol and Joe Sikorski, Diane Walker and Dann Lewis, Earl and Barbara Raney, Scott and Pam Raney, Rob and Carol Raney, Marilyn Raney; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nancie Courtright, Eleanor Slezak, Dorothy and Floyd Creveling, Robert Raney; 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, also several nieces, nephews, and friends too many to number. She loved knitting and crocheting and was a member of the Seventh - day Adventist Church. Marilyn is now waiting to hear the voice of her Savior call on the resurrection day.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main Street, Johnson City. Her Pastor, Kevin Dunn, will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday at 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the Barber Memorial Home. Donations in her memory may be made to the Dialysis Unit at Binghamton General Hospital in care of the United Health Services Foundation, 10-42 Mitchell Avenue, Binghamton, N.Y. 13903. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the physicians and staff at the Dialysis Unit, Renal Care Center and Home Health Care for their care and compassion during her illness.
