Arthur Ivan Moore

  General Notes:

The oldest of two children he was born in the farm house of his grandparents Jeptha and Ann Hemmenway Bennett. He lived most of his adult life in Brant Lake, NY but lived in Warrensburg, NY (actually died in Zephyrhills, FL) at the time of his death.

He attended school in the Brant Lake Elbow school and graduated from the Chestertown High School (present Town Hall building and museum). He worked for Victor Schwenkter of Brant Lake, who owned and operated his own business raising mice for lab purposes. He also maintained a large vegetable garden on his property and for a while raised dairy cows for milk. Later in life he worked for Nibco in Glens Falls, NY.

He and his wife enjoyed wintering in Florida while maintaining summer homes in Warrensburg and Brant lake, NY.

They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Feb 13 1985 shortly before his death.

Services were held at Barton Funeral Home in Chestertown, NY with Rev. Donald Adams, pastor of the First Baptist church of Warrensburg officiaiting. Interment was in Elbow Cemetery in Brant Lake, NY.

Arthur married Mildred Edna Gibbs, daughter of George Alford Gibbs and Myra Ann Gage, on 13 Feb 1935. (Mildred Edna Gibbs was born on 16 Jan 1908 in Rupert, Bennington County, Vermont, died on 24 Dec 2001 in Zephryhills, Pasco County, Florida and was buried in Brant Lake Cemetery in Horicon, New York.)
