James M. Nichols lived in various parts of Michigan in the mid to late 1800's. One of his son's, George Albert Nichols, was born in 1862 in Saranac, MI. I believe he married Carrie Bovee. He had at least two son's with his first wife (Carrie Bovee) Their names were Eli and Jim. He married again to Dora Straw, they had several children including my grandfather, Frank Nichols

James married Loretta Lindsley on 22 Mar 1861 in Kent County, Michigan. (Loretta Lindsley was born in 1847 in Ohio.)
