21 JUNE 1894 MARY ANN JOHNSON WORDEN, d. June 12, 1894 (ENG/CAN/NY)
MISS MARY ANN JOHNSON was born in England in 1834 and with her parents moved to Canada while still in infancy. After a residence of about 15 years in the latter country she moved with her parents to Wisconsin and settled at Fox Lake in 1850. From there five years later she removed to the town of Dakota, Waushara County, and was married to ALANSON WORDEN. With her husband she removed to New York in 1857 where she resided until the death of her husband in 1864. After his death she removed to Vermont where she remained about one year when she returned to Wisconsin and settled in Wautoma where she resided until the time of her death. She was the mother of four children, three daughters and one son, all of whom with the exception of MRS. WILL STRAW, of this village, died in infancy…. MRS. WORDEN died after a short illness Tuesday evening June 12, 1894, at the age of 60 years. Her funeral took place from the M.E. Church in this village Thursday following her death Rev. F.G. PARISH preaching the funeral sermon. Her remains were followed to the last resting place in the Wautoma Cemetery by a large number of her neighbors and friends…
