Deceased Name: ELLEN FRAZIER PICINICH
SCARBOROUGH, ME -- Ellen Frazier Picinich, 77, of Spurwink Road, died suddenly Saturday at her residence. She was born in Horicon, NY, a daughter of Leonard and Cordelia Culver Frazier. Mrs. Picinich graduated from Chestertown High School in 1940, Plattsburgh State Teacher's College in 1945, and Cornell University with a master's degree in home economics in 1953. As a young woman, she taught home economics in several New York State high school and in her later years worked in the City Clerk's office in Albany, NY. From 1966-1970, Mrs. Picinich and her family lived in Geneva, Switzerland. She was an avid sports fan, an animal and nature lover, and an accomplished genealogist. A descendant of George Soule, she was a member of the Mayflower Society and attended meetings here in Maine. She was preceded in death by her husband, P. John Picinich in 1978. She is survived by three daughters, Amy Picinich of Hamburg, NY, Susan Picinich of Scarborough, ME, and Nancie Johnson of Sound Beach, NY; a son, John F. Picinich of Albany, NY; two sisters, Blanche Farrell of Indian Lake, NY, Anne Moore of Scotia, NY; three brothers, Hulbert Frazier of Warrensburg, NY, Donald Frazier of Chestertown, NY, Maurice Frazier of South Glens Falls, NY. Also survived by three grandsons and three granddaughters. There will be no visiting hours. A memorial service at the Church of Good Shepared in Chestertown, NY will be announced. Burial will be in the spring at Chestertown Rural Cemetery, Chestertown, NY. Arrangements are by Hay & Peabody Funeral home, Portland, Maine.
