Benjamin Lord, son of Asa, was b. Queensbury (obit.) c. 1818 (t.s.) and d. "of sub-acute inflammation of the stomach" at Fort Edward at 1:30 p.m. on 14 Dec. 1893, bur. Glens Falls Cem., ae. 75 (obit.). He m. Ann (Gates) Tupper, b. Warren Co. (1855c) or Essex Co. (1875c) in 1818 (t.s.) to Orin C. and Sarah (-----) Gates; she d. at her home on the island, Fort Edward, the morning of 14 Aug. 1895, bur. with him. Listed in the Sarah Gates household at Glens Falls in 1850 (161/196) were Benjamin and Ann Lord, with Horace D. and George W. Tupper and Walter S. Lord. Benjamin was listed as boatman in Queensbury ED2 in 1855 (495/615, frame $1000) with wife, both called 13-year residents of town, stepsons Horace B. or D. Tupper (b. Warren Co. c. 1845; res. West Troy in 1893) and George W. Tupper (b. Warren Co. C. 1847; res. Whitehall in 1893) and children Walter S., Phebe A. And Olive J. In 1864, Benjamin leased property on the west side of Delaware St., Glens Falls, from Martin Eastwood (9/249). In 1866, Benjamin bought a house on Mechanic St., Glens Falls, from George C. and Julia Aikins (15/317). Benjamin was listed as a land-owning boatman, working on the canal, in Queensbury ED2 in 1875 (277/295, frame $2000) with wife Ann, stepson George Tupper (b. Warren Co. c. 1848; single, mason working in Glens Falls) and children Nathaniel C., Julia and Helen. In his obituary, he was called "a well known resident of Glens Falls for thirty years.
