Aaron Mason was a farmer, active in town affairs and considered a man of sound judgment. His name was on the petition of December 29, 1815, to the Committee of Massachusetts for a Company of Artillery for Bethel, hogreeve, 1816, field driver, 1826, collector for the whole town, 1838.
The birth dates of his children are taken from the old Family Bible and sent by Mr. Roscoe C. Clark, son of Angelia Mason.
He married Ruby Bartlett, daughter of Peregrine Bartlett & Sarah Merrill, on 8 May 1817 in Bethel, Maine. Born Bethel, Maine, on 1 Mar 1796. Data from Mason.
They had the following children:
i. Peregrine Bartlett. Born Bethel, Maine, on 7 Mar 1818. Died on 14 Apr 1876. Buried Iowa. Unmarried. Data from Mason. He settled first in Rushville, N. Y., then Iowa.
