Gideon Dike was probably the son of Benjamin & Dorcas (Levistone) Dike, born 25 March 1775 in Tewksbury MA. The records state that his mother Dorcas was a widow in July 1776. Benjamin & Dorcas married Sept 3, 1772 in Tewksbury MA
From the History of Amherst NH:
page 369 that Benjamin Dike was in Capt. Levi Spaulding's company, Reed's Regiment], and on page 384 in Wait's Company for 3 years betwe 1777-1779; on page 404 the list of soldiers in the revolution include Benjamin and Stephen Dike.
