Hx of Acworth, NH MOSES and HANNAH BARNARD were descendants of one Isaac Barnard, who came to America during the later part of the seventeenth century, and settled in or near Amesbury, Massachusetts; his children settled around him; one of them, Tristam, reared a large family of children who settled in Weare about 1790; their neighborhood is still called "Barnard hill;" their names were Isaac, David, Edmund, John, Tristam, Hannah, Mary, and Jerusha. John purchased a farm in Weare, but died in Amesbury 1795, before removing to Weare, leaving a widow, whose name was Dorothy Currier, and eight children, viz: Jerusha, Polly, Dorothy, Moses, John, Miriam, Elephalet and Hannah.
John married Dorothy Currier, daughter of Unknown and Unknown. (Dorothy Currier was born before 1758 and died after 1794.)
