21 JUNE 1894 R.B.STRAW, d. June 18, 1894 - - - (NH) per Obituary of WASHAURA ARGUS: An early settler of the town of Wautoma and a man highly respected in the community in which he lived, departed this life Tuesday morning June 18, 1894 .Deceased was born in Hopkinton, N.H. in 1822 and in the early forties was married to MISS SARAH GOVE who survives him. To them were born five children four of whom, MRS. D.W. ROBINSON, WILL AND ALBERT, of Wautoma, and SANFORD, of Oasis, are still living. In 1864-5 he served in the 1st N.H. cavalry in the War of the Rebellion and it is thought he there contracted the disease which resulted in his death. He removed to Wisconsin in 1868 and settled on a farm about three miles west of this village where he resided up to the time of his death. …. The funeral took place from the M.E. Church in this village Wednesday June 20 at 10 o'clock a.m. The Edw. Saxe Post of which he was a member, having charge of the services…The remains were laid at rest in the Wautoma cemetery.
