Fifth Generation Released 03 February 2003 Genealogical Sketch Of Some Of The Descendants Of Robert Savory Of Newbury, 1656 Samuel Savory, son of Chase, son of Robert, son of William, son of Robert, was born March 15, 1749-50. He married at Amesbury, Mass., Mrs. Elizabeth Sargeant. The intentions of marriage were published February 10, 1776. She was born April 18, 1757, and died March 20, 1847. He died September 9, 1821, being killed in the great tornado which swept through Warner, N. H., and destroyed his home, as will be related here-after. They removed from Amesbury, Mass., to Derry, N.H., where they lived for a time. They then settled in Salisbury, N.H., and finally moved into what was known as Kearsarge Gore, in Warner, N.H. They had three sons and one daughter: 1. Robert, married Abigail Hardy and had the following children: i. Samuel. ii. Jesse. iii. Levi, born 1808, died in 1873. He married Wealthy Bailey, who was born in 1811 and died in 1880. iv. George, married in 1851, Sophronia Downer. She was born in Thetford, Vt., and died November 30, 190z, at Warner, N. H. v. Isaac. vi. William. vii. Lydia, married Samuel Chase, and died April 20, 1882. They had two children, Louis N. and Emmeline, who married a Ludlam. 2. John, born at Amesbury, Mass., August 30, 1785, and died at Warner, N.H., January 11, 1856. He married Sarah Straw March 12, 1807.
COPY OF RECORD FOUND ON BOOKS OF KEARSARGE GORE. "12 March, 1807, than Alder Watson marid John Savory and Salley Straw." She was born October 18, 1782, at Salisbury, N. H., and died August 23, 1854, at Hopkinton, N. H. They had the following children:
i. Hiram Welch Savory, born October 31, 1808, and died at Manchester, N. H., May 16, 1878. He married Belinda Ryan at Plymouth, N. H., and had the following children : (1), Mary, probably born about 1855, died at Manchester, N. H., quite young ; and (2), David Mark Savory, born May 12, 1848. He married Catherine Peck, of Waltham, and had one child, Robert. David Mark Savory died December 1, 1901, at North Smithfield, R. I.
ii. Moses Long Savory, born March 20, 1813, and died at Cambridgeport, Mass., April 25, 1852. He married Almira R. Brown. She was born in Wilmot Flat, N. H., September 16, 1818, and died at Lowell, Mass., May 20, 1878. They had the following children : (1), Almira Veronia Savory, born in Cambridgeport, Mass., March 23, 1845. She married a Heath, December 20, 1896, and lives at Wilmot Flat, N. H. (2), Everett Cushing Savory, born in Cambridgeport, Mass., June 3, 1847. He married first Susie M. Mathews, second Virginia Payne, and lives at Chattanooga, Tenn. (3), Charles Hastings Allen Savory, born in Cambridgeport, Mass., March 25, 1850, and died there August 7, 1850.
iii. Sarah Savory, born at Sutton, N. H., April 25, 1819. She married Warren Damon, of Salem, Mass., at Cambridgeport, Mass., January 16, 1844, and had four children. He died at Cambridgeport, Mass., October 3, 1881. She died there July 20, 1895. Their children were: A. Samuel Herbert Damon, born at Cambridgeport, Mass., January 8, 1847, and died at Warner, N. H., September 18, 1848. B. Sarah Francis Damon, born at Cambridgeport, Mass., February 27, 1849, married Edward Walter John son, of East Cambridge, February 24, 1875. He died at Minneapolis, Minn., July 5, 1881. C. Emily Letitia Damon, born at Cambridgeport, Mass., December 8, 1853.D. Jessie Fremont Damon, born at Cambridgeport, Mass., January 30, 185 7, married Alfred H. Whitely, of Cambridgeport, Mass., and has had the following children : (1), Jessie Belle Whitely, born January 7, 1879, and (2), Catherine Whitely, born May 27, 1880.
iv. Betsey Straw Savory, born at Sutton, N. H., March 12, 1818, died at Manchester, N. H., February 1846.
v. John Savory, born at Sutton, N. H., October 16, 1824, and died at Somerville, Mass., November 26, 1893. He married Nancy Jane Manning, of Bedford, N. H., at Bradford, N. H., June 19, 1853, and had the following children A. Luella Jane, born at Warner, N. H., June 28, 1854, married Luther J. Clement, of Warner, N. H., November 3, 1875, and has had the following children: (1), Murray L. Clement, born May 1, 1886; (2), Williard T. Clement, born August 28, 1887; and (3), George Morris Clement, born January 18, 1877, married Ida May Webb, at Whitefield, N. H., November 22, 1899, and has one child, Ella May, born June 17, 1901. B. Warren Fremont Savory, born at Warner, N. H., April 13, 1858, married first Nellie Page of Warner, second Annie Crozen. C. Fred Henry Savory, born at Warner, N. H., December 29, 1859, married Emily Goodhue Dow, who was born at Warner, N. H., January 13, 1861. They have two children : (1), Fred Arthur Savory, born at Warner, N. H., February 28, 1884 ; and (2), Miriam Emily Savory, born at Warner, N. H., October 5, 1891. D. Eugene Buswell Savory, born at Warner, N. H., February 24, 1868, married Louise Bridges, of Somerville, Mass. E. Havland John Savory, born at Warner, N. H., August 9, 1871 3. Daniel Savory, born March 24, 1789. 4. Rebecca Savory, born in Salisbury, N. H., October 25, 1795, died at Amboy, New York, February 5, 1877, married at Warner, N. H., December 25, 1817, Obadiah Fifield, who was born in Salisbury, N. H., December 16, 1790, and died at Amboy, N. Y., April 11, 1860. They removed from New Hampshire to Amboy, N. Y., October 21, 1836, and had the following children: i. Franklin Fisk Fifield, born at Warner, N. H., September 12, 1818, married Mary Frisbee and died at Newark, N. Y., May 9, 1898. ii. Francis Drake Fifield, born at Warner, N. H., June 4, 1820, married Lucy and died at Camden, N. Y., September, 1881. They had four children. iii. Harriett Little Fifield, born at Warner, N. H., July 14, 1822, married a Gardner and had one child which died young. She died at Parish, N. Y., November 12, 1883. iv. Emily Colby Fifield, born at Warner, N. H., January 28, 1825, and died at Williamstown, N.Y., November 25, 1876. She married Edwin Stone and had eight children. v. Frederick Stuart Fifield, born in Merrimack, N. H., March 12, 1827, died there April 23, 1827. vi. Warren Martin Fifield, born in Merrimack, N. H., December 20, 1829, married and had two children. vii. Sarah McGaw Fifield, born in Hopkinton, N.
