Stowe Historical Society: Lydia Moody married Thomas Akeley's daughter wrote: Sarah/Sally Akeley Burke wrote about early times and named her Mother, Lydia Moody and Thomas Akeley. Lydia Moody arrived in Stowe in 1794 from the Clem Moody family from Waterborough, Maine, and Thomas Akekely as a young boy from Greenfield, MA. and he died in 1808. Nat Moody came to live with Sarah Akeley and Simon S.Burke, and they were married by Daniel Moody. Nat(haniel) Moody, son of John Moody JR. and Louise Town, she died in 1849 and Nat went to live with Sarah Akeley and Simon S. Burke Jr. and inherited the place.
