He is age 67 born OH and living in HH of his daughter Muriel (Johnson) DART and her husband and family. Lafayette is listed as "widowed."

Lafayette served in the Civil War in the 29th Ohio Infantry. He is in Michigan in the 1890 veterans census. However he is not listed in the 1894 Michigan State Census. I also didn't find him listed in the 1895 Iowa State census.
Lafayette died 6-7-1918 Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan at the Grand Rapids Veterans Home. He is buried in the Grand Rapids Veterans Home Cemetery. Plot 7 Row 11, Grave 37. (research of E. Myrick)

Straw was born on 25 Apr 1844 in Hollis Center, York County, Maine, died on 2 Sep 1910 in DeKalb, DeKalb County, Illinois and was buried in Fairview Cemetery, DeKalb, DeKalb County, Illinois.)
