David Straw
David Straw, 91, of Valley View Village, 2571 Guthrie Ave., died of pneumonia Tuesday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. The body was cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date in Meadville, Pa.
Mr. Straw was born in Lima, Ohio and moved to Des Moines six years ago from Florida. He retired as a foreman in the carbon industry.
Surviving are two sons, David, Jr. of Lindenhurst, Ill and William of Waukee; nine grandchildren; and four gr-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Link Associates Foundation. Brooks Funeral Care in Clive are making arrangements.

David married Charlotte Lavier, daughter of William Lavier and Hazel Kiberot, in Nov 1928 in Meadville, Pennsylvania. (Charlotte Lavier was born on 26 Jan 1909 in Meadville, Pennsylvania, died on 29 Jun 1996 in Polk County, Iowa and was buried in Saegertown Cemetery in Crawford County, Pennsylvania.)
