recollections of J. O'Connor Foster. She lived next door to me in Chestertown, NY with her daughter Ruby from 1945 to about 1949 when she died. She taught her grand daughter and I how to sew on her old pedal Singer sewing machine. She was waked at the home of her daughter Ruby and I remember her open casket very vividly in their living room. Ruby's daughter and I were best friends and played on the floor nearby the open casket where she lay.
Catherine married Joseph W. Hanmer, son of John Hanmer and Elizabeth Hamilton, after 1880. (Joseph W. Hanmer was born in 1850 in Lincoln, Addison County, Vermont and died in Jul 1934.)
