per Hist of Unity, NH (Beals); He is bur in the family plot with his parents Daniel and Eunice Hadley Straw.
He was a captain in militia and appeared in the census of Unity 1820-1860.

per research of Kathy Beals: "Benjamin became unproductive in older years and rec'd support from the Town in 1844 and 45 and again in 1848. He came under guardianship after a petition by the Unity Selectmen on 17 Sept 1849 declaring he was " wasting and lessening his estate due to idleness and excessive drinking."
Despite the listing of Elias and Hannah as children in this family, gravestones, census and other info indicate the above names ( Uriah, Elizabeth and Albert) were the actual given names of sons and a daughter.

Benjamin married Hannah Marshall, daughter of Aaron Marshall and Saly Melon, on 12 Mar 1818 in Unity, Sullivan County, New Hampshire. (Hannah Marshall was born about 1793, died on 28 Apr 1863 in Unity, Sullivan County, New Hampshire and was buried in Quacker City Cemetery in Sullivan County, New Hampshire.). The cause of her death was fever.
