The History of WOODSVILLE, NH,
Straw ... John B. Straw, born 1880, is a brakeman on the railroad. John
was born in Lancaster on January 28th, 1880, and Georgia T. Straw, born 1881,
have a house at 167 Central Street. (1915-1919) They were married on December
2nd, 1901. In 1921 John Straw bought out Carpenter's Variety Store. The Straw's
celebrated their 50th anniversary just before Mrs. Straw passed away.
In 1921 Mr. Straw changed it to a grocery and dry goods store at 147
Central Street, by the Highland Street crossing. The name of the store is "IGA
Store". The Straw's live at 3 Elm Street. (1925-1937) John Straw is selling
monuments and the Straws' are living at 145 Central Street. (1953-1958) Mr. Straw
sold the store to Mr. H. M. Gould in 1944. John Straw died at Mary Hitchcock
Hospital on July 11th. 1956.
